Meet Your Class Leader
Hi, I’m Chloë and I run Caterpillar Music classes in Guildford. I’m a mum to two young girls, who both went to Caterpillar Music classes from a few weeks old, long before I became a class leader. They keep me busy and you’ll usually find us dancing around the kitchen to Disney songs! In my spare time I love to sing, tap dance, cook, and grow as many flowers as I can fit into my garden.
I’ve been leading Caterpillar Music classes since March 2020 and before this I attended the classes for four and a half years with my two daughters. I’ve worked with children on and off for nearly 20 years as a dance, singing and drama teacher. My previous career was as an actor in London’s West End, performing in musicals including Les Misérables, Grease, Legally Blonde and We Will Rock You. So you can probably guess that I love to sing!
I’ve always loved being around children. The joy they bring to life is just magical! Seeing the children at Caterpillar Music grow in confidence, reach a new milestone and sing and dance along to their favourite songs is so special. I adore seeing the tiny babies respond to the tambourine, the toddlers learning their animal sounds with the help of the puppets and the pre-schoolers telling me which colours they can find on the xylophones. Each child is individual and having that 40 minute weekly glimpse into their personalities is such a privilege. Plus, we have so much fun!
My Caterpillar Music classes always provide a friendly environment and a warm welcome for children from birth – 4 years. Weekly themed sessions are carefully planned to ensure stimulation and excitement, but repetition of favourite songs and activities provides familiarity and allows for maximum involvement. Singing with your child is one of the most beneficial things you can do. Music helps the mind and body work together and promotes a child’s intellectual, emotional, social, motor, language, concentration and memory development (to name a few!). Most importantly though it is FUN!
Classes are relaxed and children can join in as much or as little as they want, though the use of puppets, instruments, bubbles and a parachute mean that no one is too young (or old) to participate and enjoy the fun.
Mummies, Daddies, Grandparents, Childminders and Nannies all love coming to Caterpillar Music Classes and I’m sure you will too. I look forward to meeting you soon.
