If you live in North West London, here are 10 fun things to do with your little ones. I have done most of these with my boys when they were younger and had a fabulous time!
- The Sherriff Centre in West Hampstead is a lovely place to take your babies and toddlers. There is a large soft play area, a café and post office. It’s also a great place to catch up with friends over a coffee. There are weekly baby and toddler classes held there including Caterpillar Music on Thursdays and Fridays: 020 7625 1184.
- Belmont Farm in Mill Hill. Children can meet and feed a huge variety of animals. Free for babies, £4.50 for toddlers and £8 for adults: 020 7318 4421.
- Lewis of London Ice Cream Farm in Barnet. There are children’s activities, inflatable slides, tractor ride-ons, events and great ice cream! Also, a great place to have your little one’s parties! A bonus is the large car park! 020 8447 1593.
- London Zoo set amidst the beautiful leafy setting of Regent’s Park will keep the whole family busy for the whole day! With over 14,000 animals, shows and even sensory story experience for the tiny ones where they can experience the sights, sounds and textures of the underwater world: 0344 225 1826.
- Gametime Playtime in Mill Hill has a cosy soft play area for the little ones and a gaming room upstairs for older children. It also has a lovely café with yummy shakes and smoothies. Caterpillar Music classes are held here on Fridays in term time: 020 3745 1986.
- Angel Swim London run swimming lessons around NW London. You can contact them here: 07960 090884 to find your nearest class.
- Topsy Turvey World, Brent Cross is a multi-level maze of tunnels, climbs, drops and slides with a “learn through play” area for the under 4s. 0800 587 5225.
- Art 4 Fun in West Hampstead is for all ages. Have a coffee, paint ceramics and t-shirts, fabulous to make handprints or footprints for future memories: 020 7794 0800.
- Go on a beautiful walk around Kenwood Gardens, a hidden gem in Hampstead Heath. Kenwood House is stunning, and many movies have been filmed here. There are concerts and other events held throughout the year. It is especially beautiful at Christmas.
- Book Caterpillar Music classes! Music and movement classes for 0-4 year olds. There are classes in Finchley, Mill Hill, Whetstone, Hampstead Garden Suburb, West Hampstead and Maida Vale. Classes are interactive and fun with weekly themes. Singing, dancing, puppets, instruments, sensory scarves and lights, parachute and bubbles.
