So, what is communication really like between Caterpillar Music Head Office and Caterpillar Music Franchisees?

At the National Franchise Exhibition last week, Helen, the Franchisor and CEO of Caterpillar Music was invited onto a panel, entitled “Being Part of a Franchise Family”

James Fay-Sedgwick from The British Franchise Association asked, “How do you and your franchisees communicate at Caterpillar Music?”

Here was Helen’s response:

“Emma-Jane and I email and have regular catch-up calls as well as Zoom calls with our franchisees. These regular check-ins are invaluable and help us to understand what is going on behind the scenes for our franchisees.

We have an online shared area, full of practical information and templates as well as an online forum, where our franchisees can ask each other questions and share tips and ideas.

We visit our franchisees at their locations around the country, we invite them to national events (usually in the children’s industry) and everyone attends our annual conference. We invite speakers to target specific areas of interest onto our Zoom calls and to our annual conference.

Once a year, a third-party anonymous franchisee satisfaction survey goes out to everyone, so we can really address any key issues in our training and support.

In addition to our Head Office team, we also have a third-party support helpline for any techy questions relating to our integrated booking platform (as that isn’t our forte, so we leave it to the experts).

We absolutely love supporting our franchisees, as we have been there and know what it is like to run a business alongside busy family life. It is often said that we are like one big Caterpillar family! “
