At the National Franchise Exhibition last week, Helen, our Franchisor and CEO, was asked a series of questions on a panel, entitled “Being Part of a Franchise Family”

James Fay-Sedgwick from the British Franchise Association asked,

“How do you support your franchisees at Caterpillar Music?”

Helen’s response was:

“We have regular support calls and Zooms with our franchisees. As well as our Operations Manual, templates, shared document area and franchisee forum, we often invite speakers into our Zooms and Annual conference, so we really can target specific areas where support is needed.

We are always learning at Caterpillar Music and encourage our franchisees to do the same in an ever-evolving business environment.  Ifwe don’t know the answer to a question, we will do our best to find it out.

This year, our Franchise Support Manager, Emma-Jane, completed a Mental Health First Aid Certificate, to help her to identify how to best address any mental health issues and signpost our franchisees to external support if they need it.

I also attended a “Leadership in Action “course to help me understand the different behaviours within our network and how to coach and support them the best way.

We love collaborating with our friends in the children’s industry and the franchising world and as members of organisations such as the Children’s Activities Association and the British Franchise Association, we attend regular events, and discussions on many topics, relevant to both the children’s and the franchising industry. We try to stay up to date with these ever-changing times and impart what we learn to our franchisees.

Being members of these organisations means benefits and discounts for our franchisees too. We have better buying power as a larger organisation, so we can help our franchisees buy high quality stock at reduced prices.

I absolutely love supporting our franchisees, as, having been a franchisee myself, I know what it is like to run a business alongside busy family life.”
